“The Developers” Art Series

Art, Illustration, Mixed Media

I’ve been inspired by desert landscapes a lot lately (in my filmmaking and artwork). Recently I completed a series that I’m really proud of inspired by New Mexico pueblos specifically called “The Developers”. It tells the story of two real estate developers who come into town and seek a profit in this arid and sacred landscape.

Below are three versions of this series. Robert Rauschenberg and the film Paris, Texas were both big influences on this series as well.

Hope you enjoy and feel free to follow my Instagram @paraprose to keep up with my most recent creative concoctions. I also sell prints and paintings there too 🙂

In Studio with Katie Southworth

Art, Promo

Here is a little video I made showcasing the work of Katie Southworth, a Boston-based artist who specializes in abstract painting. I was lucky enough to meet Katie by stumbling through the SoWa Arts Guild and seeing her open studio space. It’s been an awesome experience to document her process and style at work.

Enjoy the video & bring some color to your life by checking out her work below. Thanks!

“Angular Momentum” Series

Art, Experimental, Illustration

Here is a little series I made recently. I started with charcoal on paper and then added some digital coloring and layers to create some depth. This series is called “Angular Momentum”.

A physics term I still don’t fully understand (whoops) but to me represents the idea of keeping your momentum going despite a change in the angle of your path. Something I think we can all relate to, especially right now.

Feel free to DM for prints + pricing! Thanks 🙂

Art Gallery

Art, Illustration

Here is a collection of some of my recent art. I like to work in collage, illustration, and mixed media. Occasionally I will blend my photographs (or old, archival photos from magazines) with my drawings, and use them as a backdrop and initial inspiration for a larger piece.

My usual goal is to make art that makes people think, laugh, and reflect. Surrealism and constructivism play big influences in all my work. The line between formality and the absurd has always interested me, and I like to play in that zone. When in that zone, I seek to tell stories of the outcasts, oddballs, and loners of our world as well as my imaginary one.

Chroma EP by Della Neve

Experimental, Music

Here is my first EP entitled Chroma. I called it Chroma because everytime I make a song I noticed associate a color with the feeling I want to invoke.

So I made a mixtape, where any color I could think of was personified into music. I am also curious how other people feel when they think of colors and what their associations are. Are my sounds close to their association with that color or not? My guess is that everyone has a highly unique feeling when they think of a color based on their first impression….anyway enough psychological babble please enjoy 🙂
