Paraprose is the title used for all my mixed media creations. “paraprose” is a reference to the word paraprosdokian, which is a Greek word that translates to “beyond expectation”. It is often used to describe wordplay where the second half of a sentence is surprising or anti-climatic.

Here’s a simple example: “On the other hand, you have different fingers.”

Given my fascination with surrealism, and the division (and collision) between the ordinary and extraordinary this word has always attracted me, and so a short variation of this word felt like an appropriate way to describe my aesthetic.
