I’ve sought out shooting shows, musicals, and dance pieces much more in recent years; from BTS work to live stills. Coming from the theatre world myself makes me have a natural affinity for these spaces and the special energy they generate and hold.

Journalism
JournalismWorking in photojournalism, I’ve been lucky enough to capture a variety of powerful stories in collaboration with different Bay Area publications. Some of the topics I’ve covered include natural disasters, the housing crisis, and community heroes.
I love the unpredictable and dynamic nature of this work, and how I am given the special opportunity to learn something new with each assignment.
Portraits
PortraitsHere is a collection of some portraits I’ve made throughout the years of artists, musicians, academics and other subjects. I love capturing people at flow in their natural environment and I think a great portrait is often about creating an open dialogue and collaborative space with your subject.
Josef Sudek X Georg Kolbe Collage Series
Art, Illustration, Mixed MediaI made this series last winter while in Mt. Shasta, and never posted it on my website, until now. This is one of my favorite series. I love combining seemingly opposing elements of photography and sculpture with pastel color schemes and earth tones…and these two artists I felt had a surprising sense of kinship with each other that could rest well in a frame together. In both their work, I find a stoic brotherhood of sorts.
Hope you enjoy it and feel free to reach out to me for prints and follow my other artistic adventures on Instagram here @paraprose. Many thanks!
