Art, Illustration

Here is a collection of some of my recent art. I like to work in collage, illustration, and mixed media. Occasionally I will blend my photographs (or old, archival photos from magazines) with my drawings, and use them as a backdrop and initial inspiration for a larger piece.

My usual goal is to make art that makes people think, laugh, and reflect. Surrealism and constructivism play big influences in all my work. The line between formality and the absurd has always interested me, and I like to play in that zone. When in that zone, I seek to tell stories of the outcasts, oddballs, and loners of our world as well as my imaginary one.

About One Off Studios

About

Hello! My name is Jeremy Snowden, but some people call me JJ. I founded One Off Studios in 2013 after graduating from high school and wanting to embark on a journey as a freelance visual artist and business owner.

I work in the mediums of film, photography, writing, and illustration. Some of my favorite artists are those in the Bauhaus and Surrealist movements. I direct, produce and edit documentary and narrative films. My passion is to generate work centered around themes of identity, climate change, performing arts, and mental health. I’ve been lucky to work with some great organizations like PBS, Berkeley News, and ABC7 and seek to tell stories that entertain, inspire and educate.

I split my working life between the SF Bay Area and Los Angeles. When I’m not working I can either be found skateboarding a schoolyard or doodling in my notebook under a tree somewhere.

For any commissions or curiosities, feel free to reach out via my contact page.
